I measured and cut some little rectangles (I think they’re about 7″x3″) and grabbed a foam brush and some Americana chalkboard paint.

The previous owners had added these little stick-on warning signs all over the door, for a feeling of security, I guess.I get it, but they’re really really unwelcoming and ugly to look at, and that matters to me.

OK, well I get the dog sign and the alarm system sign, but the soliciting?Who’s going to solicit way out here?That would be some serious exercise for that poor door-to-door salesman..

So I got out my tape and my chalkboard spray paint and I changed them!.And the signs even worked!

When the UPS guy came last week, he came and knocked on the inside door to the kitchen instead of banging away out here where I can’t hear him..

I did get a few paint spots on the door, but those seemed to wipe off pretty easily.The whole set up isn’t rickety as in, old and charming, more just oldish and in disrepair.

And there are spiders.But that’s for another post..
